8th Grade students created their own versions of Beatles songs using GarageBand at our MIDI stations. |
Guitar
8th Grade students work towards being able to use guitar to accompany themselves singing. |
Units of Study:
- Theme & Variations: Students will study the musical form known as Theme & Variations, which features a main melody followed by creative transformations that change rhythm, pitch, texture, and style while keeping the original theme recognizable.
- Beatles GarageBand Projects: Students further develop their knowledge of chords and keyboarding by recreating their own version of a Beatles tune using our MIDI lab computer stations.
- Guitar: Students work to master playing melodies in first position. Students further develop their chord playing skills. Lastly, students complete a final project in which they sing while accompanying themselves on the guitar.
