Units of Study:
- History of Rock & Roll: Students will engage in an in-depth look at the history of contemporary music in America, starting with the Blues and leading into Rock and Roll. Students will learn about the historical and social issues that various styles of music accompanied as they work through the TeachRock curriculum, which is curated by the National Association for Music Education.
- GarageBand Arranging: Students further develop their knowledge of chords and keyboarding by recreating their own version of a Beatles tune using our MIDI lab computer stations.
- Guitar: Students work to master playing melodies in first position. Students further develop their chord playing skills. Lastly, students complete a final project in which they sing while accompanying themselves on the guitar.
