Orchestra is a class at Marie Murphy that meets before school from 7:10 to 7:50 AM. Students are placed into either the Maroon (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) or Gold (Tuesday/Thursday) orchestra.
Students perform in a variety of concerts and events at Marie Murphy and in the community. Students will learn and perform repertoire of many different styles and backgrounds. Orchestra students also attend sectionals during the school day. |

Ms. Terry Parisoli, Director of OrchestrasTerese Parisoli is the Orchestra Director at Marie Murphy and teaches Suzuki Strings at Avoca West. Before coming to District 37, Terese was an orchestra teacher in the Winnetka Public Schools and at Loyola Academy College Prep in Wilmette. She began her musical studies on piano before taking up strings at the age of 10. Terese holds degrees from the Interlochen Arts Center, The Juilliard School of Music, and VanderCook College of Music. In addition to a busy teaching schedule, Terese is an active freelance musician who has performed with popular artists including Ray Charles, Roger Daltry, Andrea Bocelli, and Dionne Warwick. Currently, she is the principal violist in the Evanston Symphony Orchestra and plays in a number of chamber ensembles including a piano quartet, string quartet, and harp/flute/viola trio. Outside of music, Terese enjoys traveling, sailing, gardening, playing ice hockey, and spending time with her family.
