World Music is an important element of the 6th grade music curriculum at Marie Murphy. Students explore the music of different countries, regions, or cultures through various mini-units, which can be viewed below. This unit supports our district's goal of inspiring curiosity, cultivating academic growth, and nurturing diversity. Through experiencing the different musical styles/genres, instruments, and artists in each mini-unit, students will build on their previous knowledge of music, expanding their worldview and cultivating an appreciation for the cultural diversity in our world.
