Daniel Hammond has been the General Music teacher at Marie Murphy School since 2015. He completed his undergraduate degree at Augustana College in 2010, where he sang in the Augustana Choir, Chamber Singers, and Handel Oratorio Society. Daniel completed his Master’s Degree in Music Education at VanderCook College of Music in 2017, where his master's thesis focused on teaching composition using technology in middle school general music.
Mr. Hammond first taught at Central China Normal University as an adjunct instructor in the Department of General English. While at CCNU, he also worked with the university’s TianKong Choir and conductor Dr. Tian Xiaobao, coaching the ensemble on Western choral repertoire and diction. Since returning from China in 2011, Daniel has taught music at both the middle and high school levels. Outside the classroom, Daniel enjoys singing with the Chicago Chamber Choir.
